Stacy + Spenser: Krippendorf Lodge Wedding Day

I couldn’t imagine a better way to kick off my 2021 fall wedding season than to celebrate such a beautiful day with Stacy & Spenser! Stacy & Spenser met back in 2016 at the A Day to Remember/Blink 182 concert at Riverbend Music Center. Spenser was working as event staff on the lawn and Stacy had gone to the concert alone. They started talking and Stacy told Spenser that he had to be her friend for the night since she was by herself. Believe it or not, they’ve been together ever since! Is that not the sweetest story?! Totally meant to be! I’ve been looking forward to their wedding for so long now and am so excited to finally be able to share the story of their big day with you!

Newly married bride and groom hold hands as they run down the middle of a road into a sunset at the Cincinnati Nature Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I started my day off by meeting Stacy & her bride tribe (truly the BEST group of girls!!) at Stacy’s aunt’s house. They had a relaxing morning hanging out, getting ready, and eating Chick-fil-A. We spent the morning laughing and chatting about the anticipation for the day before heading over to the Cincinnati Nature Center to finish getting ready at the Krippendorf Lodge. This is where she got into her dress & had her first look with her dad (literally SO sweet!!!)

While I was hanging out with Stacy & her girls, my awesome second shooter Maddie spent her morning with Spenser and his groomsmen while they hung out & helped set up the venue. It looks like they had a fun morning playing frisbee and they did an awesome job setting up the venue because it looked absolutely INCREDIBLE! The giant “love” sign, the ceremony arch, the gold accents, everything came together beautifully!

Once Stacy & Spenser were both ready, it was time for their first look! This ended up being such a sweet moment and they both brought along gifts for one another. After they were done exchanging them, we headed out into the nature center to take more photos and explore a little more! We ended up getting such beautiful weather throughout this entire day and I am absolutely OBSESSED with the way these photos turned out!! After finishing up with couples portraits, we brought the entire bridal party out for some fun photos, too!

After finishing up with photos, it was time for the ceremony! I always LOVE photographing weddings at the Krippendorf Lodge. This ceremony space is the perfect mix of being indoors while outdoors and I love how the lighting is always incredible. Getting married while surrounded by the beauty of the woods around you is so special and I love how intimate Stacy & Spenser’s ceremony ended up being. They wrote their own vows (Stacy actually wrote hers YEARS ago when she knew that Spenser was the one!) and Maddie and I ended up capturing such beautiful emotion.

After their ceremony we took a few family photos (but I’m saving those for Stacy & Spenser to share with you!) before heading back out to take just a fewwww more couples portraits with Stacy & Spenser. This was a spur of the moment decision we made after we realized we had extra time built into the timeline, and this ended up being my favorite part of the day. We were able to get SO MANY incredible shots and I’m absolutely obsessed with Stacy & Spenser for requesting to take even more photos. The water tower, flower fields, and gorgeous sunset ended up being the icing on the cake for such a fun day.

After finishing up with photos, it was time to party! We had a delicious dinner, listened to the sweetest speeches (cue the tears!), shared the best first dances, and danced the night away! This day was such a dream and I’m so happy that Stacy & Spenser were finally able to tie the knot and get married!! Congratulations, you two! Thank you for trusting me with capturing such an important day for you!!

Congratulations, Stacy & Spenser!!
