Sam + Eric: Wedding Day

A few weeks ago Sam & Eric were (finally!) able to gather together with their friends and family and get married! Even though it was originally supposed to rain all day, we ended up getting a day covered by a gorgeous overcast sky that ended with an even more incredible golden hour sunset. Even though their wedding day was at the end of May, we had awesome (and completely unseasonably cold) weather which was such a change of pace from the typical Cincinnati humidity! This day ended up being such a blast and I'm so excited to finally be able to share the story of it with you. I started off my day by driving up to Batesville, Indiana to meet Sam & her girls at Walhill Farm's bridal suite. This room was so beautiful and really set the mood for the rest of the day. We spent the morning chatting and listening to music while they finished up their hair & makeup before getting into their dresses. Sam made each of her bridesmaids a robe to fit their personality and it really goes to show that so much love goes into the little details!
While I was hanging out with Sam & her bride tribe, my incredible second shooter (who is also named Sam!) was next door with Eric & his groomsmen. Walhill Farm not only has a gorgeous bridal suite to get ready in, but also a fun space for groomsmen to get ready in, too. This room was so cool and gave off such an awesome vibe. Eric and his guys had such a fun morning here and I loved going through all of these photos!
After everyone was ready, it was time for Sam & Eric's first look! They chose to have their first look at their ceremony location and it was so sweet to see how excited they each were to finally see one another. After their first look, we took bridal party photos (and let me just say, this group was an absolute blast to work with! SO much fun!!) before continuing with couples portraits and family photos. Even though I'm saving all of the family photos for Sam & Eric to share, I did want to share a few of these couples portraits. The colors that Sam & Eric chose were absolutely beautiful and I love how all of the wildflower bouquets make the bridesmaid dresses pop. Even though it looked as if it was going to rain all day, the weather held off and we had a gorgeous cloud covered sky which is any photographer's dream (this lighting was incredible!)
After all of the formal portraits were taken, it was time for the ceremony! This was one of my first weddings of the 2021 season and it felt so good to see so many people get together and celebrate such a happy occasion. Eric & Sam's ceremony was short & sweet, but packed full with so many emotions! It was an absolute honor to capture such beautiful moments that I know will turn into precious memories. Watching as Eric wiped tears away from Sam's face as she said her vows was one of my favorite parts of this entire day. So, so precious.
After finishing up with the ceremony and a few more family photos, it was time to partyyyy! This reception was SO much fun. The food was delicious, the speeches were so sweet, and EVERYONE was out on the dance floor! Sam & Eric are lucky enough to be surrounded by so many people who love and care for them and it was so obvious throughout their reception. I absolutely love photographing weddings when everyone is out on the dance floor & this one was incredible!
Eric & Sam, thank you so much for trusting me to capture such an important day for you. Everything truly did come together perfectly and it warmed my heart to see you both so happy! Congratulations, again!
