Sabrina + Zack: Lunken Airport Wedding Day // Cincinnati, Ohio

Oh gosh, I am SO excited to share Sabrina & Zack’s wedding day with you! Everything about this entire day was an absolute dream and I don’t even know if I can fully put it into words! I am so excited to share these incredible photos with you!

I started my day off by meeting Sabrina & her bridesmaids while they were getting ready. Sabrina had such GORGEOUS details for her flat lay photos and I love all the little pieces that pulled everything together. From using an extra bridesmaid dress as a backdrop, to her acrylic invitations, to incorporating details from her first communion. Everything was so sweet and sentimental and came together beautifully! I photographed Sabrina’s sister’s wedding last summer and will photograph her brother’s wedding this winter, so it was so awesome to already know so many members of the bridal party! I truly felt like I was hanging out with a group of friends and loved capturing them getting ready for such a special day together. Once Sabrina was dressed and ready to go, we headed outside to take a few family and bridal party portraits before heading to the church!

While I was hanging out with Sabrina and her girls, my awesome second shooter, Sam, was hanging out with Zack and his guys. Once they were dressed and ready to go, they headed outside for photos as well. They took photos with their frisbee golf frisbees and I absolutely love how Sam captured all the fun they had! Following the theme for the day, Zack and his groomsmen all had matching airplane socks that were so perfect!!

Sabrina & Zack’s ceremony was held at St. Simon the Apostle and it was such a sweet ceremony. Zack had the best reaction to seeing Sabrina for the first time and Father Schneider personalized their ceremony with the best mix of love and laughter. It was absolutely adorable to see Sabrina and Zack look at one another and bust into giggles and truly just celebrate coming together as married. After the ceremony we took family photos (those are for Sabrina & Zack to share with you!) before heading to their reception!

Sabrina & Zack’s wedding reception was held at Lunken Airport. I am a huge traveler and absolutely love airports and planes so this venue was SO surreal to me and an absolute dream to photograph. My husband and I have been averaging visiting 8 new countries every year for the past few years, so if we would ever have a redo of our wedding day, this would 100% be the venue I booked for the reception! Once we arrived we started with bridal party and couple portraits and I absolutely loved all the tropical plants growing up the side of one of the hangars, so dreamy as a backdrop! During golden hour we were able to head out onto the runway for photos with the planes and, let me tell you, I was absolutely losing my mind on the inside! What a dream to have a beautiful, freshly married couple hanging out and having fun on a runway at sunset! I couldn’t imagine anything better. Sabrina & Zack were up for absolutely anything as long as they were having fun and laughing together and it was truly the best day!

Once we were done with photos, we headed back into the hangar for the reception. Sabrina & Zack did a great job incorporating travel themed details into their reception space and guests were able to watch planes take off while having dinner. From speeches to dances, the entire night was a dream. We had such a beautiful sunny day all day, but during the reception the skies opened up for about 20 minutes and it absolutely poured down rain. Luckily for us, this didn’t change the plans for the big sendoff at the end of the night. After the last song played, Sabrina and Zack headed out to make their getaway, but instead of a getaway car, they had a getaway PLANE! Neither of them had ever been in a plane or flown before, so this was so exciting for them to experience together for the first time! Truly such an incredible ending to the best day! What a dream to capture!
