Mackenzie + Alex: Engagement Session

A few months ago, Mackenzie reached out to me so that we could pick a day for us to take engagement photos for her and her new fiancé, Alex. Even though we had a last minute change of location, this session was an absolute dream and I LOVE the golden hour beach vibes their photos give. Mackenzie & Alex are planning on having a beach themed wedding in May, so we tried to get as close to a beach as we could in Ohio. Successful? I think so ;)

Since these two are headed to the beach for vacation later this summer, we originally planned on having their session at a fire station. I was SO excited since that would have been an absolute dream as well, but the night before our session the fire truck we were planning on using was in an accident. The good news is that there were only minor injuries for everyone involved, but it still meant we had to make a last minute change of plans. Mackenzie brought back up the idea of this little "beach" and we were back in action.

I usually only take seniors to this spot, so I was THRILLED that I was able to work with a couple here as well. Even though it was humid (& VERY muddy) we had the perfect golden hour and Alex & Mackenzie did nothing but laugh. I usually have to ease into the more candid photos when I work with couples I haven't met before, but these two were nothing but giggles from the moment they stepped out of the car and I LOVED it.

After finishing up shooting at our little beach, stopped to take a few shots by a small patch of wildflowers and, if you ask me, I'd say it made the perfect ending to a great session. Mackenzie & Alex were so fun and easy to work with and I'm over the moon that they're now engaged! Congratulations again, you two! I can't wait for you to see the rest of the photos from your gallery later this week!!
