Emily + Steven: Historic White Oak Farm Wedding Day

I had the BEST time kicking off my busy fall season with Emily & Steven’s wedding day last month and I am so in love with their photos! All the love and laughter captured makes my heart so happy!

Newly married bride and groom stand under the bride's veil and smile at the camera after getting married at Historic White Oak Farm in Morrow, Ohio.

I took Emily & Steven’s engagement photos at Historic White Oak Farm last September and have been looking forward to going back and capturing their wedding day for them there ever since. Let me just say, this venue absolutely lived up to the hype and is a DREAM to photograph at! I started my morning off in the bridal suite to capture the final moments of Emily and her bridesmaids getting ready. Emily truly looked list a Disney princess come to life in her dress and I loved how special her first look with her bridesmaids was!

While I was with Emily and her girls, my second shooter Sam was with Steven and his guys. I love all the fun that was captured while they were playing football before they started to get ready. What a great way to burn off some energy! This groomsmen suite was also incredible!

Once everyone was ready, Emily headed outside for her first look with her dad. This was such a sweet moment and his reaction to seeing her was absolutely precious. Moving from sweet moments to fun moments, after surprising her dad, Emily surprised her groomsmen! They knew they were having a first look with her, but what they didn’t know was that she was surprising them with more than just what her dress looked like! When they turned around she had a pack a Smirnoff Ices with her so that they could start the day off with a drink. One of her groomsmen “had a feeling” this was going to happen and had an UNO reverse card with him to turn the surprise back on Emily. This was such a funny moment and so great to capture!

After the first looks with her dad and bridal party, it was time for Emily and Steven to see one another for the first time. Before seeing each other, they exchanged private vows while standing back to back and holding hands. This was such an emotional moment for both of them and made seeing one another afterwards even more special. They also exchanged gifts and after they were done we went right into couples portraits! We had such a gorgeous day and it was beyond perfect for photos! Historic White Oak Farm is truly my dream as a wedding photographer. We were able to go from place to place to place and get such a great variety of backgrounds in their photos! I am OBSESSED!

After finishing up with photos of Emily & Steven, it was time to bring out the bridal party! This was such a great group of people who were all so close. It was truly such an honor to capture the bond they have and all the laughter they shared together!

Once we were finished with photos, it was time for the ceremony! Since Emily & Steven already shared their own personal vows in private, this outdoor ceremony was perfectly short and sweet!

After the ceremony we took a few family photos (but those are for Emily and Steven to share!) and then it was time for the reception! This Disney themed reception was truly magical and we had a perfect night. Emily and Steven opted to do a fun photo bomb song before listening to the sweetest speeches. After cutting their cake they headed out to the dance floor to share their first dance together. Emily and her dad invited other dads and daughters to join them during their dance and Steven and his mom did the same with mothers and sons during theirs! After an anniversary dance, the dance floor officially opened and the party started!

Before fully kicking off the reception, we did manage to sneak off and capture a few golden hour portraits before the sun went down. These are so dreamy and I’m so glad that Emily & Steven were up for heading back out for a few more photos! Emily & Steven, Thank you SO much for trusting me to capture such a special day for you two!!
