Elizabeth + Christopher: The Ohio State University Faculty Club Wedding Day

Earlier this month I made the trip up to Columbus to capture Elizabeth & Christopher’s wedding day. I’ve been looking forward to their big day for so long now and can’t believe how perfect it turned out, what a dream!

Since everyone was already ready when I arrived at The Ohio State University Faculty Club, we started our day with photos of Elizabeth & Christopher’s first look. This was such a sweet moment and I absolutely love how these photos turned out. I love the formality that the contrast of Christopher’s black tux & Elizabeth’s white dress bring to these photos and am so in love with the pop of spring colors that Elizabeth’s bouquet adds as well. The Ohio State University is such a gorgeous place for photos and since these two live right down the street from their venue, they were able to show me around since this is the same area they go to while taking their dog for a walk! How sweet! Not only are these photos taken in such a beautiful place, but also a super sentimental place for them!

After finishing with couples portraits, we jumped into bridal party & family photos. I’m saving the family photos for Elizabeth & Christopher to share with you, but did want to share a few of my favorite fun bridal party photos! These lavender bridesmaid dresses pop perfectly against the summer greenery and made everything so dreamy!!

After all of the formal photos, it was time for the ceremony! Elizabeth & Christopher shared their vows in front of their friends and family out on the OSU Faculty Club patio. This area was absolutely gorgeous and while sitting here you could look out and see the fountain at Mirror Lake. Viva la Strings Columbus created such an elegant atmosphere with their beautiful music during the ceremony & cocktail hour and it was the icing on the cake to make this day absolutely perfect! Once Liz & Chris were officially married, it was off to cocktail hour to mingle with their guests! Before going in to their reception, we were also able to make it back down to Mirror Lake for just a few more photos at the start of golden hour!

Once we were back inside the Faculty Club, we had the BEST dinner (so delicious!) before speeches. This was such a unique venue because after dinner and speeches we were able to head back downstairs and enter into a new reception space for cake & dancing which ended up being SO much fun! Liz & Chris were able to mingle with their guests during dinner and then made a big entrance with their bridal party when we switched rooms. Once the entire bridal party entered, Liz & Chris cut their cake, had their first dance, Liz danced with her dad, Chris danced with his mom, and the party was started! I don’t typically get to stay for the entire wedding reception, but I’m SO glad they asked me to stay this time. Everyone was out on the dance floor the entire night and Liz changed out of her white wedding dress and into a gold party dress. This was such a fun twist and I absolutely LOVE that I was able to capture the incredible reaction that Chris had to seeing her in her new dress for the first time. Priceless! At the end of the night, all the guests headed outside while Liz & Chris shared a final, private dance to end the night with and when they came outside afterwards their guests were lined up to send them off with a beautiful sparkler exit! This was the best ending to an incredible day and I’m so thankful Liz & Chris trusted me to make the trip up to Columbus and capture it for them!

Liz & Chris, thank you so much for trusting me to capture such a special day for you two! Everything came together soooo perfectly and you had the best day! I’m so excited for you two to now be married and I hope you have to best time moving to New York!
