Christina + Nicholas: Wedding Day

I am so incredibly excited to finally be able to share Nicholas & Christina's absolutely stunning wedding day with you. With all of the reschedules & cancellations I've had with COVID, this was my last wedding of the year and I couldn't have imagined a better day to end my 2020 wedding season. Even though their day ended up being completely different from what they had originally planned, it was absolutely perfect.

I've been looking forward to this wedding all year, it was the first wedding I booked outside of the greater Cincinnati area and I was SO excited to be able to take a little road trip up to Indianapolis to document this special day! When I arrived at Christina's parents' house that morning, I knew that the day was going to be filled with SO much love and laughter. Christina's bride tribe was so sweet and their matching robes were almost as perfect as their gorgeous faux fur shawls. Christina's dog Gracie was cutest little spectator and even agreed to stealing the spotlight for just a few photos! Christina's mom Debbie helped Christina get into her dress (I couldn't imagine a dress more perfect for Christina! It looks like it was MADE just for her!) before having a first look with her dad, Bob. This was the sweetest first look (just look at his smile!!!) and after giving them a moment we headed outside for a few fun bridal party portraits in front of their yellow barn!

After everyone was ready, we headed to the church! Christina & Nicholas wanted to wait until they were at opposite ends of the aisle to see one another, so Nicholas and his groomsmen hung out in the church basement while waiting for the ceremony to start. We did take a few fun groomsmen photos outside, but the group spent the majority of the time before the ceremony relaxing and playing Uno! So fun!

Christina & Nicholas got married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and oh my, it was absolutely beautiful inside. The floral arrangements up by the alter were just stunning and it was the perfect place for two to become one. We were able to take a few family photos before the ceremony and then take the rest of them with both Christina & Nicholas afterwards, and everything worked out perfectly! After the ceremony, the cutest little getaway trolley was waiting outside to take the newly married couple & their bridal party to dinner! So fun!!

Even though we originally planned on heading to a local park for photos after the ceremony, we decided to hang out at the church and take them there. We had such gorgeous lighting and the big windows in these photos are just stunning. This bridal party was so much fun to work with and everyone was so incredibly happy for Christina & Nicholas! After finishing up with group and individual bridal party photos, it was time for couples portraits! Let me just say, these are probably some of my favorite wedding photos to date. The colors were just incredible and I LOVE that Christina had a white faux fur shawl on. As a winter bride myself, I just adore weddings in the colder season and I love how these photos turned out! You can just feel the happiness these two share just by looking at them!!

After we finished up with formal photos, it was time to celebrate! Christina & Nicholas decided to postpone their formal reception until next summer, but instead of just letting the day end at the church, they decided to at least go out to dinner with their immediate families and bridal party. They were supposed to have their rehearsal dinner at Late Harvest Kitchen in Indianapolis the night before, but they were able to move the dinner and have it on the night of their wedding instead. We were able to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. in a private dining room in the back of the restaurant and let me just say, out of all of the different COVID-style celebrations I've seen this year, this was one of my favorites. It was so special and memorable to be able to sit down and enjoy a (delicious!) meal with Christina & Nicholas and their families and it was so incredibly sweet to see how much everyone worked to make this evening into an absolute dream. Nicholas' mom made a cake for them to cut, there were speeches (and tears!), and cute little decorations on the tables. They also decided to still have their first dances and this was probably my absolute favorite part of the day. Instead of staying back in our little private dining room, we were able to go out onto the heated patio for the dances. The string lights and fire were incredible and the other customers enjoying dinner outside were so supportive of watching the newlyweds make an incredible memory together. It was so awesome to see that, even in the craziness of this world, people came together to make this day special and it warmed my heart to see it happening right before my eyes!

Christina & Nicholas, thank you SO much for trusting me to come all the way up to Indy to document such a special day for you two! It truly did come together beautifully and I already can't wait to celebrate you again with a big reception in July! I'm so glad that you'll now get to have both days, congratulations again!!
