Kim: Portraits

Oh my goodness, friends. Kim's session in Over The Rhine was an absolute blast. Just look at her shine.

First, let me set the scene for you. It continuously rained/snowed on my way to meet her and it was around 30 degrees out the entire time we were shooting. Oh . . . you can't tell? That's because Kim took the weather like a champ and was SO good at being herself in front of the camera.

Kim and I met a few years ago, but she contacted me earlier this week about getting a few portraits taken. She's been celebrating a few new life milestones and this was a great way document them.

She looks really professional, right? That may be because she just scored her first, big, full-time job for after she graduates this coming May.

Another thing to celebrate? She just signed on a beautiful new apartment! The good things keep coming, right??

You know what I say deserves celebration? The fact that she matched her shirt and glasses SO perfectly. We actually both have maroon glasses, so I know how great it feels when you have a maroon shirt to go along with them.

Kim and I met in Washington Park and walked around the surrounding side streets in Over The Rhine. There are so many cute shops and storefronts, and they provided such a great backdrop to Kim's portraits.

As much as I love shooting in the fields and countryside landscapes that I typically find myself in, visiting urban settings like OTR makes my heart so happy. No matter what corner you turn around, there is a cool wall or lighted storefront.

And let's not forget about those PERFECT alleys.

Kim fit right in. Seeing how confident and radiant she was while rocking her buzzcut hair makes me want to take the plunge and chop my hair off, too. However, I don't think I would be able to pull it off as well as she does!

This session reminded me how much I LOVE shooting headshots and portraits. I'm always looking to work with new people, so if you're interested in setting up a session of your own, message me so that we can work something out! Kim loves her photos, and I'm sure that you would love yours, too!
