Snowy Self Portraits: An Update

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my first blog post of 2018! I thought I'd start the year off with a few self portraits I've been working on along with an update on life.

I guess I'll start with my graduation! It's been about a month since I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with my Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science degree. Last week I participated in my first interview for graduate school for Physical Therapy and I will find out more about my admission decision in a little less than two weeks.

If I get into graduate school, I'll start the next chapter of my life in May. Until then, I'm building a lot of traveling into my free time. The trip I'm most looking forward to? Visiting Ireland for St. Patrick's Day! It will be my third time out of the country, but my first time solo traveling.

I'm still finalizing all of the loose ends of the legalization process for my business, but I'm on my way and I think that the process is so exciting! Starting up and running my own small business before I turn 22 is a pretty big accomplishment!

Throughout the month of January, I've mainly been focusing on boudoir photography. It's exciting because I've been able to work in studio space and I have the absolute BEST clients. I wish I could blog every session I shoot, but due to privacy reasons and the fact that most of these boudoir sessions are Valentine's Day surprises, I have to keep them secret!

Other than indoor boudoir sessions, business really slows down during the colder months. However, after sitting inside and enjoying my day off yesterday, I knew I couldn't let the BEAUTIFUL snow we were getting go to waste. I bundled up and grabbed my camera, tripod, and remote and headed outside.

Taking self portraits is a great way to practice just about everything with photography, and I was so excited to finally use a new preset pack I got for Christmas. I fell so in love working with the neutral look that the snow provides and have decided that I really wouldn't mind if it was like this for a few months instead of just a few days.

If you're wanting a few portraits in the snow, reach out to me! I love meeting new people and would love to work with you! If you want updated headshots, a few photos for social media, or even a few pictures with you and your SO, the snow would make a PERFECT backdrop. Feel free to reach out, because we would have so much fun.

Thanks for reading this far and for starting this journey with me! I can't wait to see what grows and changes in 2018, and I'm glad that you are along for the ride.
