Tyler & Breelyn: Fall Photos

Wow - what a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The rain & storms held off and I was able to hang out with Tyler and Breelyn again, this time in a location just as exciting as the first time ;)

I took fall photos for Tyler and Breelyn about two years ago, and my-oh-my, I just love working with them. Bodies full of energy always ready for whatever is coming next.

Whenever I start scheduling sessions, one of the first questions I always ask is whether or not my future client has a location in mind. Almost always, they tell me no and I give them a few ideas to get them thinking, but that's never the case with Breelyn and Tyler. Back in 2015, we had our session off the side of the road at the cutest little cabin. Today, we got even riskier.

When I asked for what location their mom and grandma had agreed on for this year, they sent me the address of this ADORABLE covered bridge. That's right, why just use the side of the road when you could use the middle of the road too!? (FYI, their grandpa was looking out for traffic and this was NOT a busy road, we were 100% safety first!)

Luckily for me, I absolutely LOVE finding new locations, especially ones that are hidden within such beautiful wildlife. Not only was this covered bridge here, but tons of little nooks and crannies that were perfect for pictures!

Since it's been two years since I've seen them, I can't even believe how much older they look. Breelyn is now SEVEN and Tyler is TEN! And my goodness, they look like such grown-ups!

I've never worked with a 7 & 10 year old, but I had a blast. We laughed and joked and made sure that no one else knew that we were actually having a little bit of fun. Tyler brainstormed a few poses for us to try and we even got to take a photo while jumping!

Tyler and Breelyn have such different personalities and it's so fun to be able to watch them come out throughout our session. Even though it takes some time to warm up and get the giggles out, eventually we were able to work up to the point where hugging for just one photo seemed to be a good idea. And oh my heart - the love between a bother and sister is such a powerful thing.

It's obvious that Breelyn really looks up to Tyler and that Tyler really looks out for Breelyn. At one point, Breelyn wanted to sit close to the edge of the hill we were on, and Tyler told her that it made him too nervous to watch her and he needed to come and put his arm around her to protect her. What a brother!

The bottom line is, I had SO much fun today. I love the photos we ended up getting, and I can't wait for them to see the rest in their online gallery! Having clients come back to me year after year not only melts my heart, but it gives me such a great opportunity to compare how I'm learning and growing as a photographer. For example, 2015 vs. 2017. Same little models, same camera body, updated lens and updated mind :)

Wow! That change! If you made it this far, thanks so much for stopping by! If you're interested in booking a session with me this fall, I'm filling up! Don't hesitate to contact me to hold your spot :) I had SO much fun with this little family, and I bet that I would have fun with yours as well :)
