It's A Boy!

About two weeks ago, I walked into our department at work on my lunch break and saw an announcement on our communication board: Megan had her baby, and it was a boy.

Meet Baby George. Weighing in at 8.3 pounds, he is absolutely perfect, and I had the wonderful opportunity to take his newborn photos.

I love babies, but it has been almost 18 years (you know, when my youngest sister was born) since I held one as small as George. Let me tell you, I was obsessed. I'm so used to shooting seniors and couples that I forget just how small everyone starts out as. It's crazy how fast we all grow up and I think it's important to capture those little details while we can.

Fingers, toes, ears, and nose! So many little details that change so quickly. This was my first newborn session, and I feel like I learned so much from it. For example, sleepy babies are the easiest babies to photograph . . . but sad babies are still just as cute!

George was awake throughout the majority of our session, and he let me take the most perfect shots of his innocent little eyes.

There will be so much in this world that he will see and do, and it all starts now. Mom and Dad are taking such great care of him, and we needed to sneak in a few family shots too. They really show just how small he is!

And of course, the *original* baby of the house had to be in a few :)

I had so much fun working with this little family, and I am so happy that they like their photos. Just because I can't help myself, here are a few more favorites!

Thank you so much for getting this far! I can't wait to continue newborn photos over the next couple of months (because there are SO many babies coming!). If you're interested in setting a session up, contact me for more information!
