The Golden Hour

I know, I know. I probably utilize Kat's modeling skills more than I should, BUT when you have a photographer and model became best friends before they figured this out, you can't really help it!

On Monday night, we decided to skip the hometown episode of this season's Bachelorette and head over to Miami Whitewater to work on a few "golden hour" photos. Golden hour is beautiful-the sun setting helps create the most perfect lighting and my oh my, the photos we took . . .

Originally we wanted to practice with a new 50mm lens I stumbled upon, but after seeing how perfect the weather was lining up for us, we really couldn't stop.

One of the major perks of having Kat model for me every couple of months is that I'm able to see my overall progress as a photographer with the outcome of her images. Looking back to a shoot we had two years ago, I can't even believe the progress I've made.

We approached this particular shoot differently. Kat and I typically go for a more urban vibe in our photos but we changed things up with a park setting. And even though the color is so controversial in the photography world, we went straight for the green.

I know that I say it every time I post a blog on here, but I'm obsessed! I cannot wait to book another golden hour session! I love being able to challenge myself creatively and make something that makes my client happy.

As always, let me know if you want to set something up with me and let me know what you think of Kat's session! Thanks for stopping by to read about it!
